Orchard Park, NY – John Brach, M.D., CEO of Endion Hospitalist Systems, the largest and most comprehensive hospitalist program in Western New York, announces that Stephen P. Sorrentino, M.D., has been hired as a hospitalist at Sisters of Charity Hospital – St. Joseph Campus in Cheektowaga, NY. Endion has been providing hospitalist services at the St. Joseph campus since July 2009.

                 A hospitalist is a physician, physician assistant or nurse practitioner trained in internal medicine and other specialties whose focus is on caring for hospitalized patients. Hospitalists do not maintain an outpatient practice. A hospitalist focuses his or her attention on the hospitalized patient, managing care by coordinating and consulting with specialists, closely monitoring the patient’s progress and staying in touch with the patient, the family and the patient’s primary care physician.

                 Dr. Sorrentino received his Bachelor’s degree in Biological Sciences from the State University of New York at Albany, where he graduated magna cum laude. He received his Medical degree from the State University of New York at Buffalo, School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences, and completed his residency at North Shore University Hospital/New York University School of Medicine.  He received his New York State board certification in 1998.

                 Before joining Endion, Dr. Sorrentino was in private practice in Schenectady, New York and Latham, New York. Currently, he resides in Clarence Center, NY.
